who

we are

Zach Lee

Veteran Zion climber and Southern Utah guide, Zach Lee established Rock Odysseys in 2013 after the birth of his first baby Jette. He is a Utah native and a climbing enthusiast. His climbing career has been spent putting up routes and first free ascents on some of Zion’s most unclimbable walls. Zach has been guiding for over a decade and half, and he loves showing, or maybe just reminding, people what a joy it is to climb and explore the natural world around them.

Amanda Harley

Amanda Harley was born and raised in New Mexico. After graduating high school, she found rock climbing and fell in love with the sport as well as its community. She was touched by how friendly and supportive fellow climbers were; she met friends who took her climbing all over the state, around the West, and even in the Alaska Range. She is an AMGA certified Single Pitch Instructor and loves sharing the sense of strength and accomplishment that climbing brings her.

Alyson Golub

Aly Golub first visited Southern Utah in 2016. Since then, she has traveled around the U.S. climbing in Kentucky, Colorado, West Virginia, Texas, Alaska, Tennessee, Arkansas, Nevada and Illinois before realizing she is a true desert rat and needed to return to Zion. She has worked as a guide in Southeastern Alaska and coached the youth climbing team in St. Louis. Aly is psyched to keep instructing climbing and canyoneering and to share her passion for the outdoors with her guests.

Jake Jarzyniecki

Originating from Indianapolis, Indiana, Jake started climbing when he was twenty and has been obsessed ever since. He devoted two years to gaining experience and enlarging technical skills; climbing his way across the U.S. including New York, Kentucky, Tennessee, Virginia, North Carolina, Wisconsin, Colorado, Wyoming, New Mexico, California and throughout the Desert Southwest.  In Utah, Jake fell in love with all of the outdoor activities, wide-open spaces, and people and decided to stay. He enjoys teaching and sharing his passion for the outdoors, rope-work, climbing and  rappelling.

Gabrielle Olsen

Gabby has traveled all over the west and internationally for rock climbing. Her sophomore year of college she became president of the Uscend climbing club at the University of Utah, which has now grown to over three hundred members. She also organized and implemented a very successful Kid’s climbing program at one of top climbing gyms in the U.S. Gabby is extremely adept at instructing children in climbing and rappelling and has a way of making even the most heights-worried participant feel safe and confident.

Joe French

Joe has lived and climbed in the Zion area since 1996 and guided professionally since 2004. He is a member of the Access Fund and the American Mountain Guides Association (AMGA) and has received his Single Pitch and Rock Instructor certifications. Joe loves Zion, has put up multiple routes in the area and to many in the know is considered quite legendary in his sport. He is technically meticulous and takes satisfaction in a perfectly dressed knot. He enjoys sharing his love for and knowledge of all aspects of the sport to his guests.
